Hera was the goddess of marriage she was also the queen of the Olympians. However she was known for her jealousy and vengeful nature especially to woman Zeus used to love. She was very cruel to them because Zeus cheated on her any time he could. Hera never cheated on him even though she knew he was unfaithful to her. one of the times Zeus cheated on her he had a baby with a mortal woman. She got really mad and she sent snakes to attack the baby, Hercules. Then Hera went and had a baby by herself to get even with Zeus. It did not work out though the baby, Hephaestus was deformed and Zeus was not very surprised. Hera had three other kids with Zeus there names were Hebe, Ares, and Eileithya. Hebe was the goddess of health, Ares was the god of war and Elieithya was the goddess of childbirth. Hera's parents were titans Rhea and Kranos.  Kronos swallowed her because he thought she would over thrown him like he over threw his father.when kronos had Zeus he did not swallow him because he was not informed of his son. so when Zeus grew up he poisoned kronos so he would thrown up all his siblings.  Her name meant beautiful lady because she was the most beautiful out of all the goddesses.she was also called Juno. Hera's symbol was the peacock and the cow because it symbolizes her nuturing and watchfulness over her subjects the peacock symbolizes luxury, beauty, and immortality. Hera had  big eyes, brown hair, and she always wore a crown and carried a lotus tipped staff. She wore jewelry and loved to pamper her body with divine cosmetics. Hera was born on the island of Samos or at Argos.  She and Zeus had a secret honeymoon longest on record lasting 300 years. Her husband Zeus was the king of the gods. Hera had strengths like she was the defender of sancity, marriage, and monogamy. Some of Hera's family was Zeus, Hestia, Demeter, Hades, and Poseidon. In Greece some of the most important temples were consecrated to her.
