Nicolina Ursetta - The Greek Goddess Athena
Have you ever met anyone that was born out of their dads head? Are you sure? Well lucky for you to find this blog, because a Greek goddess named Athena was born in a very extraordinary way! Lets start from the beginning, Athena's mom (Metis) thought that she was going to have a boy. Then Zeus (the father) didn't want his son to conquer him so Zeus ate Metis. So her mother ended up having a girl.So that leads to Athena's mom having Athena in Zeus. Finally one day Zeus was having major headaches and he went to Ares, Hephaestus, and Poseidon, they cracked open his head and Athena was a fully armed woman in her fathers head.
Athena was the goddess of wisdom and war. She hated the idea of fighting with out a purpose because she was a very loving person. Athena had no children or spouse. Which is hard to believe since she was so loving. The goddess of war & wisdom was one of the 12 Olympians. The 12 Olympians were the principal gods. The 12 main Olympians were Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Dionysus, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus and Hermes.
Athena had a very good impact on the Greeks. The Greeks probably honored and loved Athena because she was very loving and nice. I think that they would have thrown roses and cherish her a lot. That's my opinion because as people say treat others as you want to be treated and she did that. To me she seems like she would be the goddess of love instead of war but that's just my opinion. I guess that's pretty much it for now!
marcos ruvalcaba - Hephaestus god of fire
Have you ever heard of the god Hephaestus? Well here are some facts about Hephaestus did you know he was the god of fire and forge and blacksmiths. His strengths are metal working, and his symbol is fire, forge, hammer, axe and pincers. Hephaestus is married to Aphrodite but she has affairs with Ares god of war. His parents are Zeus and Hera but some say just Hera. His forge is in a volcano and worked with the one eyed cyclops. He also created the first women named Pandora. He was also thrown of mount Olympus and found by a naiad and made her jewelry. Then Hera asked for her son back. He was the blacksmith of the gods and made weapons for a war.
Hephaestus he sat next to Poseidon on Olympus, throne was made of metal and he was two thrones away from his dad Zeus. when he walks he's wobbling because of his dad thrown him off Olympus. I think people made sacrifices to him because he's the god of blacksmith. So blacksmiths made sacrifices so they could make the best weapons. Also he created the fire he is god of forge. Also he made weapons for wars so they have to give him sacrifices.
Hephaestus lived in Athens and there the blacksmiths really loved him. Hephaestus used his axe to cut open his skull and the Athena came out fully armed ready for battle. His name in roman is Vulcan short for volcano. He got revenge on Hera because she rejected him he built a throne that when she sat on it she was trapped. The gods asked him to release her but he said no he released Hera and for that his re ward was that Aphrodite would be his bride. That's the god I did in this report so I hope you learned a lot about him.

Carmen Rodriguez - The Greek Goddess of Love
Do you ever worry about your love troubles? If you have, then you should think about the Greek Goddess of love, Aphrodite! Aphrodite was from Greece. She was born out of sea foam when her dad (Zeus or Ouranos) was cut and blood dripped into the sea. The blood started to foam and then a giant sea shell rose out of the sea and on top was a beautiful, full grown, Aphrodite. It's still a mystery who her real parents were but let's not get to into that. She was one of the twelve Olympians. Mount Olympus was obviously in Greece if Aphrodite was the Greek Goddess of love. Well then, we should get a little bit more into Aphrodite herself.
Aphrodite had a big role in her society. She was the Goddess of love (as I mentioned before) and beauty. She was in charge of all love situations including marriages. She would make a person fall in love with you and then you would make a sacrifice to her. You had to be grateful or else she would either curse you or make the people not love each other anymore. All love, marriage, and beauty problems would mean you would have to pray to Aphrodite if you were a Greek. What a difficult role huh? If all the love gossip is bad at school, imagine all the Greeks!
Moving on, Aphrodite had a great impact on society. All things love and beauty were her responsibility. Everyone who wanted to get lucky in love had to pray to Aphrodite. If you were ungrateful, Aphrodite would do bad things to you. Like one couple, she turned them into lions. She was vain, bad tempered, jealous, and unfaithful. That's the reason she was married to Hephaestus, the God of blacksmith, but loved Ares, the God of war. She didn't care if what she did was wrong. She knew her husband would forgive her because of her beauty. She put a curse on Eos because she got jealous of her affair with Ares. See how mean she can be? Well that's pretty much it! Now, you know as much as I know about the Greek Goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite as me!

Nyx is most of the time seen with wings driving a chariot with the night all around her, she is sometimes seen as a shadowy figure as well, might have been wearing a dark gown with mist around her.
Jaylynn Castanuela-hera
Hera was the goddess of marriage she was also the queen of the Olympians. However she was known for her jealousy and vengeful nature especially to woman Zeus used to love. She was very cruel to them because Zeus cheated on her any time he could. Hera never cheated on him even though she knew he was unfaithful to her. one of the times Zeus cheated on her he had a baby with a mortal woman. She got really mad and she sent snakes to attack the baby, Hercules. Then Hera went and had a baby by herself to get even with Zeus. It did not work out though the baby, Hephaestus was deformed and Zeus was not very surprised. Hera had three other kids with Zeus there names were Hebe, Ares, and Eileithya. Hebe was the goddess of health, Ares was the god of war and Elieithya was the goddess of childbirth. Hera's parents were titans Rhea and Kranos. Kronos swallowed her because he thought she would over thrown him like he over threw his father.when kronos had Zeus he did not swallow him because he was not informed of his son. so when Zeus grew up he poisoned kronos so he would thrown up all his siblings. Her name meant beautiful lady because she was the most beautiful out of all the goddesses.she was also called Juno. Hera's symbol was the peacock and the cow because it symbolizes her nuturing and watchfulness over her subjects the peacock symbolizes luxury, beauty, and immortality. Hera had big eyes, brown hair, and she always wore a crown and carried a lotus tipped staff. She wore jewelry and loved to pamper her body with divine cosmetics. Hera was born on the island of Samos or at Argos. She and Zeus had a secret honeymoon longest on record lasting 300 years. Her husband Zeus was the king of the gods. Hera had strengths like she was the defender of sancity, marriage, and monogamy. Some of Hera's family was Zeus, Hestia, Demeter, Hades, and Poseidon. In Greece some of the most important temples were consecrated to her.
Timothy Sath - Hades
Hades
Hades is the Greek ruler of the Underworld AKA (Netherland). His wife, Persephone, was tricked and kidnapped by him. He and his two brothers Zeus and Poseidon, were each given a place to rule. When needed to speak to, people banged their hands on the floor. Hades holds the Helmet of Invisibility. Hades became gloomy and unpleasant living in the Underworld. He has a three headed dog named Cerberus as you can see in the picture above. Ancient Romans called him Pluto, meaning wealthy. He was not a god to underestimate.
Hades' Realm
- Cold,Dark and gloomy
- Made of black rock
- Deadly to souls or spirits
Hades was the oldest child of Cronus and Rhea.
He may be the same person as Dionysus.
His sisters are Demeter, Hestia, and Hera.
Charon carried souls over the River Styx to Cerberus whom had made sure they were good or bad.
antonio trujillo - Loki
Loki was known as the trickster god he was also a shape changer.Loki was also known as the god of mischief, deceit, and lies. Loki was married twice his kids were Fenrir, midgard ,and hel.Loki tricked him self into being a god so he is not really a god.next was that Loki his parents were fire giants that is another reason he is not really a god. Also is that none of the other gods trusted Loki.As time went on Loki got more and more evil. One time Loki was making fun of the gods so the gods started chasing him .Loki was hiding from the gods but he spotted them so he ran to the river as a salman and thor saw and told the other gods and they found Loki. Then loki's son kiled his brother then his venom was dripping from it's body on to Loki when the pan was full of venom.Loki's wife was a troll.Loki's parents were Farbauti and laufey.Odin had taken Loki in and made him his blood brother.one time Loki's mediling is what caused the god Hodur to kill his own brother.
Miranda Lukee -Loki-
Loki,or also known as The Trickster or Sly One, is a Norse God.But Loki is not a complete Norse God.Loki had tricked the gods into making him a god.Loki is a shape changer. That means that he can change into anything he wants to from a old woman to the size of a flea. Loki hated the other gods that were from Asgard. He had wanted to over throw or become more powerful than the other gods. Loki was believed to be the cause for the death of Balder. Loki, of course was not always bad. In fact sometimes Loki would help the other gods or even sometimes get them into trouble. It was said that after the war that had happened between Aesir and Vanir, Asgard didn't have a defensive wall anymore. So one day a rock giant that had disguised himself so he would not be killed, had offered to build the wall only if he had something in return. The gods did not want to have the rock giant do the job. But Loki had stepped into the picture and had the gods be tricked into letting the rock giant do the job.The gods had agreed, but only if the rock giant could do the job in a matter of time. The gods, including Loki, had thought that the rock giant was alone. But the rock giant had a horse that had helped build the wall. Three days before the wall was finished, Loki had turned himself into a mare and led the horse away from the job. A few months later Loki had returned with an eight-legged child that was named Svaldifari. But since Loki was agile, attractive, and a joker, his attributes had gotten him into deep trouble frequently. As the years passed the gods had saw how much Loki was immature. The gods had begun not to fall for his tricks anymore and had started to tease him. The more that they had teased him the more evil that Loki had become.Loki had ran away from the gods and had three more children that were monsters. The children that he had was Fenrir the wolf,Midgard the serpent, and Hel goddess of the underworld. After learning that Loki had these three children, the gods had sent out to find the children. The children were found and taken to the Norns. The Norns are gods that can predict a baby's life. They were taken to the Norns because the gods had predicted that they were going to cause harm or death to other gods. The Norns had believed that Fenrir the wolf was more evil than his two siblings. So Fenrir was taken to a place were he was strapped down so he would not escape and harm other gods. After learning that his children were captured, Loki became more evil than ever.In order to get his revenge, Loki had shown up at a banquet that he was not invited to.He had disguised himself as a woman and asked a fellow god if all plants had agreed to be kind to Balder and other gods. After the fellow god had said that the name of one plant that did not agree,Loki had sent out to find it. After finding the plant Loki had made the plant into a dart.He returned to the banquet and asked Balder if he wanted to play a game that involved throwing darts at him.Balder had agreed since he knew that everything that was thrown at him would avoid him.Hod was tricked by Loki to throw the poisonous dart at Balder.Loki had helped Balder aim.Everyone that was at the banquet had believed that the dart would miss. But the dart had pierced Balder in the heart. After seeing the death of Balder, everyone had turned to the woman that Loki had disguised himself as.Loki had took off running after they had figured out that the woman was Loki.Loki had tried jumping into the water and turning himself as a fish. But the gods knew his tricks and captured him in a net. They took Loki to this mountain top where they had chained him to a rock.On top of the rock was a venomous snake that would drip poison onto his face.In order to stop the pain, his wife Sigyn, would put a bowl over his head and catch the venom. But when she had to dump the bowl, the venom would drip onto Loki's face and cause him agonizing pain him.It is said that Loki will stay chained up until Ragnarok. When Ragnarok comes,Loki should be able to slip free from his chains and go into battle with the god Heimdallr. From there the two will battle until one of them slays the other.
Loki and his wife Sigyn |
Fenrir the eldest of Loki's children is bound in order to stop him from killing the god Odin. |
Midgard Serpent was the middle child and has grown big enough to surround the world. It's believed Midgard holds the world, and if Midgard lets go,the world will end. |
Hel was the last child and god of the underworld. |

Leslie Valles-Tezcatlipoca
...............TEZCATLIPOCA............
Tezcatlipoca was the god of the sun and moon (He controlled the light). He was one of the four sons of Ometeotl. Tezcatlipoca means smoking mirror and he was known to take the form of a jaguar. He was very important in the Aztec culture. He is one of the five suns in the Aztec calendar. He even has his own temple that has 80 steps and is 14 ft. wide. His worst enemy was Quetzalcoatl.
Their battles destroyed the earth four different times. But together they created the fifth world(which is suppose to end some with earthquakes) . They created the fifth world by capturing Cipactli with Tezcatlipoca foot and killing her. That's why in the picture above Tezcatlipoca has no foot.
But their battles had a huge impact in their society. When Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl destroyed the world four different times they had to create the fifth world. The only way they could create the world was by capturing Cipactli, the goddess of humanity, and killing her. They captured her by using Tezcatlipoca's foot as bait. That's why in pictures he often shown with no foot.So the Aztec's believed that they had to sacrifice people every day so the gods stay happy and so they can thank Cipactli for her misery to let them stay alive. They also believed that if they didn't sacrifice someone every day Tezcatlipoca would be angry with them and black out the sun so there would be no more light. So that's why the Aztec's scarified so many people every day.
Elizeth A. Athena
Athena is a Greek goddess. She is the goddess of wisdom and courage. She is also the goddess of useful arts, such as weaving, farming, cooking, and playing music. Athena was the protector of heroes like Jason, Hercules, and Odysseus. Athena gave these heroes advice and gifts to help them on their adventures. Athena was one of the 12 Olympians. Ancient Greek and Romans believed these powerful gods ruled the world from Mount Olympus. Athena was the daughter of Zeus. The Titan Metes was Athena's mother. The story is that Zeus was afraid that one of his son's might take over. When he knew that Metes was pregnant he swallowed her whole. A few months later he had a really bad headache he asked his son, Hephaestus to cut his head open and see what was going on. When Hephaestus did what he was told. Athena and Metes jumped out. Athena was born fully dressed. Ancient Greek believed that the goddess Athena invented many things like ships and chariots. The people of Attica named their capital city "Athens". Athena's symbols are the olive trees, snakes, aegis, armors, helmets, and spears. The owl represents wisdom. The snake is the symbol of creation, fertility, regenerative force. The helmet and spear represents victory in war, and the aegis means protective war. The owl is more than a symbol, that is how she sometimes appears. Her roman equivalent is "Minerva". Athena had many half brothers and sisters, some of them are Apollo, Aphrodite, Ares, Hephaestus, and Hermes. Athena did not have children, she was virgin.
Ariadne R. Aphrodite
Aphrodite was the Greek Goddess of love, beauty, marriage, and the protector of sailors. It is said that she was born when Cronus was castrated by Uranus and his part was thrown into the sea, Aphrodite was thus born and arose on a large shell, which was then carried to land, thus her name being translated ''foam risen'',she is also known as the daughter of Zeus and Dione. Myths say she was the most beautiful of all goddess. She was one of the most popular Olympians.Ancient Greeks and Romans believed these powerful gods ruled the world from Mount Olympus.People often asked Aphrodite to help them find love.Aphrodite was really beautiful, Zeus saw how all the male gods fell in love with Aphrodite's beauty. He worried they would start arguing about her and make a big cause. To prevent them from fighting, Zeus made Aphrodite marry his son Hephaestus the ugliest of all gods. Aphrodite did not love Hephaestus, she loved Ares. Her love for Ares angered Hephaestus, one day he told Aphrodite he was going away for a few days but it was a lie. When Ares and Aphrodite were together a net fell on top of them and that's when Hephaestus came in.He was so angry that he called every god so Ares and Aphrodite would be embarrassed.Poseidon fell in love with Aphrodite at first site.So he suggested that Ares should pay for the marriage gifts.Poseidon then gladly serve as guarantor, witch means that if Ares defaults Poseidon would take Aphrodite as his wife. Ares did ultimately default, but Hephaestus was still in love with his wife that he didn't want a divorce .So he never brought it up again.Hermes also fell in love with Aphrodite. But when she rejected him Hermes requested Zeus's help. The king of god send an eagle to steal one of her sandals. To retrieve it she was forced to submit to Hermes. The child they had conceived was a double sexed child.Aphrodite had more children exactly she had 20 children, but they were all from different gods!
